A nice way to begin any weekend day is to join the South Course Men’s Club for sunrise and some golf at Recreation Park South Golf course in east Long Beach. The Club has the distinction of having a set of tee times early every Saturday and Sunday morning. Club members simply sign up as they arrive. Not having to worry about getting a tee time is only one of the good things accruing to club members. The Club is affiliated with the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). Club members thus get all SCGA benefits including a handicap, discounts and the opportunity to participate in all SCGA events. The Club has their own events including a mini-tournament every Saturday and Sunday morning as well as several tournaments during the year at 18-hole courses in the area. The major event for the Club is the annual Breakfast Tournament in November. Participation in all Club events is encouraged but is not mandatory for membership.
